Different installations require different skills. Job titles are useful starting points, but relevant bathroom-ventilation experience and the actual scope matter more.

Why a New Fan May Not Fix the Problem
Poor installed airflow can result from undersized ductwork, excessive length, unnecessary elbows, crushed or sagging flexible duct, restrictive transitions, poor exterior caps, stuck dampers, shared or poorly configured exhaust paths, and other conditions that add resistance.

The Ductwork Matters
A fan’s published CFM is not necessarily the airflow delivered at the installed grille. Diameter, length, elbows, flexible versus smoother routing, transitions, dampers, and the exterior termination all influence resistance.

Where Should the Fan Vent?

What About Air Sealing?
